Dr. Jonathan Claydon
MBBS (Hons). FACEM GC-CLINUS
Dr. Jonathan Claydon is an Emergency Physician at University Hospital Geelong and Ballarat Base Hospital, serving as the Clinical Lead in Ultrasound at Barwon Health. After graduating with an MBBS (Hons) from Monash University in 2008, he practiced at The Alfred Hospital before relocating to the Surf Coast and University Hospital Geelong. He was elected to Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in 2017.
Dr. Claydon has consistently pursued innovation and the integration of future technologies into clinical practice. He leads the Point of Care Ultrasound program at University Hospital Geelong, guided by the principle that it is always better to look than to listen. In 2019, he co-founded HaptiSim with Dr. Nuseibeh and Dr. Mackinlay to create the next generation of procedural education. Following a sabbatical focusing on Artificial Intelligence in 2023, he co-founded Clintix, initially dedicated to AI-driven innovations in medical education. Dr. Claydon’s passion for staying ahead of the crest of the wave underpins his work, and he hopes others leave TIME ’26 equally inspired to embrace emerging technologies in their everyday practice.
