Dr. Alastair MacKinlay is a senior consultant, Emergency Physician, and digital health leader with expertise in clinical informatics, system implementation, and emergency medicine leadership. He holds a Master’s in Digital Health from the University of Barcelona and has worked across clinical, strategic, and technological domains to drive healthcare transformation and innovation.
A strong advocate for medical education and technological advancement, he is an Affiliate Senior Lecturer at Deakin University, an APLS Instructor, and an Accredited Simulation Instructor. As a co-founder of HaptiSim, he is dedicated to enhancing procedural training through simulation and AI-driven solutions.
Alastair has played a key role in health service reform and digital adoption, ensuring that emerging technologies, including AI, are clinically relevant, evidence-based, and effectively implemented. His work in digital health consulting, health tech testing, and AI-driven clinical innovation continues to bridge the gap between frontline clinicians and technology developers.
Beyond medicine, he is passionate about environmental sustainability and rewilding. Living on the Surf Coast, Victoria, he enjoys surfing, sailing, SCUBA diving, skiing, hiking, and conservation work in the Otways and beyond.
